Psyllium Husk

The seed husks of Plantago ovata, consisting of pure soluble arabinoxylan fiber. In water, psyllium swells to form a non-fermentable lubricating gel that softens hard stool in constipation, adds bulk to liquid stool in diarrhea, binds bile acids to lower LDL cholesterol, and blunts postprandial glucose spikes.
