Welcome to HerbsRx ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.
By using HerbsRx, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our services.
Personal Information
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you:
- Register for an account
- Subscribe to our services
- Use our AI Coach feature
- Contact us for support
This information may include:
- Name and email address
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)
- Health-related queries you submit to our AI Coach
Information Stored on Your Device
HerbsRx does not run third-party advertising pixels or page-view analytics suites (no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar). The information stored in your browser is described in detail in Section 7 (Cookies, Storage & Consent). In short:
- Essential storage needed to run the site (keeping you signed in, remembering that you accepted our Terms, completing a checkout you started, and your interface preferences). This cannot be turned off.
- Optional features that share your IP address with a third-party service (such as detecting your country to link the right online store). These run only after you consent.
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process your subscription and credit purchases
- Personalize your experience with our AI Coach
- Send you service-related communications
- Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
- Monitor and analyze usage trends and preferences
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
We may share your information in the following situations:
- •Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf: Stripe for payments, Convex for data storage and authentication, a third-party AI provider for AI Coach responses, and Hostinger for hosting and email. Optional third-party services that receive your IP address (GeoJS and ipify) are listed in Section 7 and run only with your consent.
- •Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
- •Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Our security measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication practices
- Regular security assessments
- Limited access to personal data
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request transfer of your data
- Opt-out: Opt out of marketing communications
To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@HerbsRx.neoncell.ca
HerbsRx stores information on your device using your browser's localStorage, sessionStorage, and a small number of cookies. We operate on a default-deny basis: nothing optional runs until you accept it in our consent banner. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or page-view analytics suites (no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Segment, and the like).
Essential — always on, cannot be turned off
These are strictly necessary to provide the site and the features you ask for, so they are not gated by consent:
- Authentication: sign-in tokens that keep you logged in.
- Terms acceptance: a record that you accepted the Terms of Service required to use the site.
- Consent choice: your accept/decline decision, so we can honor it and not ask again.
- Guest access: if you enter your email for free guest credits, we store it (localStorage + a cookie) to apply your daily allowance and remember your progress.
- Checkout: a temporary session identifier used to complete a purchase you started with Stripe.
- Preferences & usage: interface settings (e.g. whether you've seen the welcome message, your last search, a cached two-letter country code) and the counters for features you use.
Optional — only after you consent
These features send your IP address to a third party. They stay off until you select Accept, and stop again if you withdraw consent:
- •Country detection (GeoJS): We send your IP address to GeoJS to determine your country, so we can link you to your local Amazon store. We do not store your IP address from this lookup — only a two-letter country code is cached in your own browser. If you decline, we fall back to your browser's language setting and no IP is sent.
- •Sign-up IP (ipify): When you claim free guest credits by entering your email, we look up your public IP address via ipify and store it with your guest record for abuse prevention. If you decline, we record it as "unknown" — you still receive your credits.
Other third-party content
Some content loads from third parties who, by the nature of the request, receive your IP address. This is required to display the content:
- Embedded video: if you click "Watch Related Video," a privacy-enhanced (no-cookie) YouTube player loads from Google, governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Fonts & images: web fonts load from Google Fonts and herb photos load from third-party image hosts (e.g. Unsplash).
- Amazon links: "Buy on Amazon" buttons are affiliate links; we may earn a commission. Visiting Amazon is governed by Amazon's privacy policy.
How to withdraw or change your consent
- Select Decline in the consent banner, or
- Use the Cookie Preferences link in the site footer to reopen the banner and choose again at any time, or
- Clear your browser's site data for HerbsRx to reset all choices and be asked again.
Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately — optional third-party requests stop without needing a page reload. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though essential features may not work correctly if you do.
HerbsRx is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
HerbsRx provides educational information about herbal remedies and supplements. This information is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new supplement or treatment regimen.
The AI Coach feature provides general wellness information and should not be considered medical advice. Any health-related queries you submit are processed by third-party AI services and are subject to their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
