Wild Pansy (Viola tricolor), or Heartsease, is a traditional European herb rich in soothing mucilage polysaccharides, salicylic acid, flavonoids, and cyclotides. These active constituents provide a gentle, dual-action demulcent and anti-inflammatory effect. The mucilage coats raw, irritated bronchial membranes to calm tickly coughs, while its salicylates and flavonoids soothe chronic dry, itchy skin conditions from within.
Educational information only — never stop or change a prescribed medication without talking to your prescriber first.
Generally exceptionally safe. Avoid if you have a known allergy to salicylates (aspirin). Discontinue topical use if skin redness or irritation occurs.
