Oak

White Oak (Quercus alba) bark is a premier botanical astringent containing up to 15-20% monomeric and polymeric tannins. These powerful tannins physically constrict capillary walls, precipitate mucosal proteins to form a protective, drying barrier, and immediately halt minor bleeding and fluid leakage. It is an outstanding remedy for acute diarrhea, bleeding hemorrhoids, and weeping skin conditions.
