Vaccinium macrocarpon fruit, containing unique A-type proanthocyanidins (PACs) and quinic acid. A-type PACs bind to the P-fimbriae of uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC), preventing bacteria from adhering to the uroepithelial lining of the bladder wall, enabling them to be flushed out harmlessly.
